Recently MCMC has issued order for Malaysian ISPs to block a list of filesharing sites in Malaysia due to piracy. Anyway I’ve been using Fileserve for quite sometime to share large photography files with my customers however I have been interrupted by this blockage though I’m using it for a legal purpose and I’ve paid 1 year subscription for Fileserve
Option 1
If you are using TM related internet services to consumer , there are actually no firewalls that are blocking you. It may cost hundred of millions to deploy something like that with the whole countries throughput. They have only removed the DNS entry from their DNS server.
Here’s how you can look up back those DNS entry to those filesharing sites that are missing
* I will take no responsibilities for anything illegal done with this method as I’m sharing it for my own purposes.
* I will take no responsibilities for any damages/ interruptions cause by changes done
*Use this method at your own risk
1. Go to your Network Adapter that is connecting you to the network
2. Right Click – > Properties on your network adapter, scroll down to TCP/IP , click on Properties again
3. You get this Window
4. This will be the auto DNS that are assigned from TM, you can actually point to any valid DNS Server out there in the world with Using the following DNS server address
I love to use 4.2.2.2 a DNS server in US.
You may also use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 , the 8.8.8.8 brings good luck i hope
5. Click Ok , Save, Wola! Back to my work again!
Option 2
There are also a lot of ways to bypass firewall or blocking. It all depends on what type of technology the ISPs are using to block URL. One good options (free) that I like to use to by pass blocking using free proxy services out there. You can try to set this proxy into your proxy setting
